Basics:​
-
Commit to at least one (1) school year of volunteering (August-May)

Co-facilitate small groups of children/teens in a school setting with at least one other person
-
Lead activities from crafts and games to journaling and conversation
-
Training provided

Qualifications:​​
-
Must be at least 18 years old with a desire to support children
-
Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to commute to schools
-
Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
-
Willingness to undergo a criminal background check prior to starting
-
Must demonstrate trustworthiness and maintain confidentiality in all responsibilities​​

Time Commitment:​​
​In-school peer-support groups vary in scheduling. Classroom Companions must have daytime availability to facilitate during or immediately following the school day.​

Able to commit to at least one (1) school year of volunteering (August-May)

9-hour training provided before starting and 3 hours done independently (12 hours total)

Attend check-in meetings on a weekly or bi-weekly basis with Erin's House School Program Coordinator
